Delphis – Foundation round the world was founded by Sergio Bambaren, in conjunction with other ecologists and environmentalists, initially for the conservation, custody, and defense of the natural ecosystems in non-populated beaches in Peru.
Through the years, and in partnership with other organizations, Delphis became a well-known organization worldwide.
We have shared efforts protecting beach ecosystems in Peru, Italy, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Sardinia. So humans have the minimum possible impact in these natural habitats. Our next step will be the Canary Islands.
The preservation of the fauna and flora of coastal ecosystems is our main concern. We manage dolphins, sea-lions, and whale rescues. As well as taking care of all birds, reptiles, and crustaceans that call the ocean or the beach their home. Cleaning beaches and shore waters of plastic is fundamental in preserving these pristine ecosystems. We collaborate in “impact studies” of industries located close to the shore, i.e., fishing ports, marinas, and any other human project that deals with coastal areas.
Our primary goal is to preserve Nature and stop humans’ cruelty to animals anywhere in the world. We have joined forces with other organizations:
- to petition the abolition of bull-fighting worldwide
- the illegal trade of wild animals
- the closure of dolphinariums and other wild animals kept in captivity.
Sergio Bambaren is a graduated Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M, USA. This blend of knowledge and love for Nature has allowed him to prove that human development can co-exist with Nature if done the right way.
In his own words:
“We are part of Nature. If we destroy it, we will finally destroy ourselves. We don’t own Nature. We are just part of it.”
